Globalization
There are several definitions for the term, which generally want to express the integration of many societies of the world from the social, economic, cultural point of view. Some experts say this is a process that began with the Great Navigations in the 15th century and has intensified in recent decades, thanks to the development of technologies such as computing and telephony. Many still argue that globalization is restricted to the economic area, preferring to call the phenomenon the globalization of the economy. Other theorists, finally, prefer to view globalization as a recent phenomenon, which began in the 1960s and intensified after the breakdown of the Soviet bloc. More generally, it would be just another wave of capitalist expansion, such as that occurred after the Industrial Revolution or during imperialism.
