Archaeologists find synagogue in Jesus Christ's time in Israel Israeli archaeologists discovered on Sunday the ruins of what they believe to be one of the oldest synagogues in the world.
According to archaeologist Dina Avshalom-Gorni, the ruins discovered in northern Israel are from the time of the Second Great Temple of Jerusalem, between the 50s before and 100 after Christ.
The site of the excavations, Migdal Beach on the coast of the Sea of Galilee, is quoted in both Jewish and Christian scriptures.
